Alufix RFID - New product debut at Control 2011
Witte Bleckede introduces fixtures with "memory"

Alufix from Witte, used by recognized manufacturers in automobile and aircraft companies for measuring and inspection purposes, is well-known amongst experts worldwide. Now the Bleckede company can integrate RFID technology (radio frequency identification) into their proven modular fixturing system. An implanted memory chip enables clear identification of each Alufix component and comprehensive saving of all product-relevant and lifecycle data. With this new technology Witte once again sets a bench mark in fixture building.

The Control exhibition in Stuttgart opened its gates from 3rd to 6th May 2011 for the 25th time. Altogether 820 exhibitors from 27 countries were present at this globally most important exhibition for quality assurance and measuring technology. An internationally professional audience was particularly interested in latest introductions to the range of modular workpiece fixturing - like for example the newly developed Witte Alufix RFID.

The innovation: All Alufix components starting from minimum size corresponding to size of memory chip (D=8 mm x H 3 mm) can now be equipped with a chip. Also a retrofit of already existing parts is possible. The transponders have storage capacity for alternatively 500, 1,000 and/or remarkable 2,000 characters. For defined information (world-wide exclusive identity number, item number, description, manufacturer, production date) approx. 100 characters are needed. The remaining memory can be used individually as required: This might be information on storage site or test intervals of the elements. Writing and reading operates with a standard program or special software (e.g. Stock management) on a PC. The laser pointer is attached either to a USB port or transmits the information wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Alufix 100 - Witte Bleckede recognizes future needs

The Witte company introduced a further new item at Stuttgart. Following market trends this manufacturer now offers Alufix modular fixturing components in system size 100 in addition to exisiting system sizes 16, 25, 40 and 50.

It is becoming evident that the need for modular fixturing for XXXL work pieces is increasing. Applications include transporter chassis, airplane parts, wind power turbine blades or train components, which can all be mounted using Alufix 100 for repeatable, accurate measuring and test procedures.

System size Alufix 100 is particularly advantageous, because it corresponds to a 100mm net plan. Both the outer dimensions of the profiles as well as rows of grid holes move in a net plan in X, Y and Z direction.

The system components are manufactured in high-quality aluminum. The proven connection technology guarantees high fixture rigidity.

Eyecatcher attracts visitors

Besides a cross section of their whole product range, Witte also presented a hovercraft sandwich plate 2000x5000mm with integrated air tanks, powered by direct drive using remote control. The plate was mounted with various types of Alufix fixtures and proved to be a special highlight at Control 2011 attracting a lot of interest.
What will Witte Bleckede come up with for the professional attendees at the next Control?
We can hardly wait!
