Milling and cutting processes can cause considerable forces. Non-magnetic, thin-walled parts are commonly held using vacuum during machining. Friction values, which are defined via roughness of part surface as well as properties of material involved, have a big influence on the holding force.
Witte Bleckede, manufacturer of a broad range of vacuum technology, now offers a special mat, which not only increases friction value thereby improving downforce but also gives the added advantage of anti-slip protection for the part.
After mat is mounted on vacuum fixture the area inside part contour is perforated or punched.
Machining with or without coolant is possible. The special characteristics of the blue adapter mat improve security in holding part during machining process.
