Witte America, leading manufacturer of fixturing systems, developed a concept of a foldable fixture made out of standard components from the Alufix modular fixturing system.

The fixture is primarily intended for use directly on the track. During test drives any necessary adjustment of the front wings are communicated to the team and the fixture is adjusted accordingly. The angles usually differ only by a few degrees. During stops the wings of the front nose are fine-adjusted within seconds on the fixture and the car is immediately sent back on the track. The settings with the best results are then integrated during the race.

The fixture in high-tensile aluminium took only a matter of days from concept to finished product.
