Economical alternatives to the classic fixturing systems from Witte
At the IMTS 2010 Witte America will present two new fixturing systems: Aluquick SOLID and Alufix ECO.
With these alternatives the manufacturer of several recognized workpiece fixturing systems reacts to constantly progressive requirements in fixture building. The two systems are destined for different ranges of application. Aluquick SOLID is particularly suitable for complex fixtures in passenger car, truck and aircraft part measuring, while Alufix ECO can be used parallel to Alufix Classic system. Both offer substantial cost savings and compatibility with Alufix Classic system. Also both systems can be combined in use.
Aluquick SOLID is particularly suitable for large fixtures like cubings, which require high stability. The system is ideal to replace conventional heavy steel structures. With Aluquick SOLID 50% weight saving can be achieved compared to similar structures in steel, which means it greatly facilitates handling and transport. Aluquick SOLID comprises of extruded profiles with slots and is provided with a grid. This combination allows components to be positioned either repeatably using the grid or offset using the slot. Contrary to conventional slot profiles Aluquick guarantees high repeatability of measuring fixtures as well as later further use of the individual profiles for other fixtures. With the rigid design of the individual components Aluquick SOLID also conforms to working conditions on the shop floor.
For large fixtures Aluquick SOLID is a favourable economical alternative.
Alufix ECO, with its universal grid and the multiple application possibilities, closely resembles the well known Alufix Classic system. It has the same grid and profile dimensions and is fully compatible to Classic.
With an aim to providing the market with a more economical system for measuring fixtures, the Alufix ECO components are manufactured from an aluminum alloy with a lower tensile strength than Classic. Also, compared to the Classic system, the accuracy of the individual components has been reduced. Face couplings have been simplified, the double chamfer grooves on the profiles have been completely dispensed with. Its dark blue colour makes Alufix Eco conveniently suitable for photogrammetric applications and visually distinguishes it from Alufix Classic.
Alufix Eco will primarily be available for complete fixtures or as selected single components. Sets and special articles are momentarily not yet available.
Some typical Alufix Classic system advantages also apply to the Eco version:
